Backworks offers both Therapeutic and Relaxation style massages. Our therapists specialize in Swedish Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Tui Na Massage (Chinese style), Deep Tissue Massage, and Pregnancy Massages.

A Hot Stone Massage can alleviate muscular tension, and promotes relaxation of the muscles by applying direct moist heat to specific muscles and areas; such as the back.

Our acupuncturist, Dr. Robin Braga, is a licensed and registered Acupunctutist; by the Board of Medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Dr. Braga is also an instructor at the New England School of Acupuncture.

Backworks offers an Initial Chiropractic Examination; and a Chiropractic Adjustment. This allows a person to be thoroughly evaluated by the doctor, as well as restoring the alignment and intregity to the spinal column.

Normally, we sell these to those who primarily travel; and need to have their back adjusted. A Chiropractic Initial Examination as well as a Chiropractic Adjustment (normally itself an $85.00 value); also a Backworks 1/2 hour (30 minute) Massage (a $50.00 value).

Backworks offers a variety of reduced rate "Package Plans." We usually sell them in blocks of 5 or 10 treatments. The prices vary from a minimum of $210.00 to $900.00.

They are designed for thse who need a consistent amount of therapy to address their concerns. The savings are from 25 to 33%.

Our Package Plans never expire. You can also use one of them for a Gift Certificate; at no additional charge.They are also transferable.

Deep Tissue massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fiber's of the muscles, tendons and fascia.

This exotic treatment involves placing heated Lava stones on to the skin and pressure points. Hot stones are used to massage different parts of the body and the stones are also placed on specific areas. The stones are very comfortable and never too hot. This produces a state of relaxation like no other.

Clients receive 5 to 20 min. massages that cover the head, neck, shoulders, back arms and hands. Participants are fully clothed and little or no lotion is used. This shorter version of massage leaves a person feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

A massage designed for the person who needs to do a little more than melt away the stress of the work week - a week-end warrior or someone with chronic aches and pains will love this type of massage.

Sometimes referred to as "Medical Massage", Orthopedic Massage is a highly specialized massage modality that employs cross fiber friction on ligaments and tendons. This type of massage is anything but relaxing but perfect for many diagnosed with rotator cuff injuries as well as other injuries to ligaments and tendons. The course of treatment is usually 6 - 12 weeks and can be performed with (60 minutes) or without (30 minutes) traditional massage. Clients interested in this type of work should be sure to visit their physician before beginning this therapy.
